[List] Joe Kovach passed, Worked in Human Resources Huntsville Division

I do not have any details but I learned from email through our Corvette club that one of our members passed on Tuesday.

Joe Kovach worked in Human Resources back in the day but I don’t know the dates.

Joe had left Thiokol and worked elsewhere but he and his wife retired to Huntsville a few years ago and joined the Corvette club.

 

I cut and pasted the notes from those emails below.

Joe has passed away.  Please keep Fran and their son, Matt, in your prayers.  He will be cremated and there will be no service at this time.  In a few weeks Fran will have a church service for him.

Tuesday 1/26/2021

A few weeks ago I asked for prayers for Joe as he is being treated for leukemia.  I talked with Fran yesterday.  She and Joe both contracted COVID19.  She was in the hospital in Madison but went home to recover.  She is feeling better but still very weak.  Joe is in Huntsville Hospital and refuses to go on a ventilator.  His chances of recovering from the cancer are very low and now the virus. He is in palliative care at the hospital.  Please keep him and Fran in your prayers.

Jimmy Johnson

A Private Funeral service for Jimmy Judson Johnson, 89, will be held by his family assisted by Peck Funeral Home.  A Public Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date. 

Mr. Johnson died on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.  He was born September 13, 1931, in Morgan County to John Tollie Johnson and Ora Lee "Sookie" Gurley Johnson .  He made contributions to the Aerospace and Defense Industry for 34 years, prior to his retirement.  He was a man of few words, but when he talked it was worth listening to him. He was a mentor and role model to many and a wonderful husband and father. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Mutt Johnson and Leo Johnson.

Survivors include:   
 
Wife - Sue W. Johnson

Daughter - Regina Johnson Layton (Kevin)

Sister - Sally Williams

In lieu of flowers family request memorial donations be made to the "Bosom Buddies"  at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
