went into the ER 3/11/24 Monday morning with severe
abdominal pain. Upon registering, he began to get
confused and brain fog so the triage nurse called a
stroke alert and wheeled him off for an MRI, CT,
numerous blood tests and cultures. They suspected a
*UTI, stroke, mini strokes or urosepsis. We spent 4
hours in ER before we got a room. 4 days later, Friday
night, they found on a 2nd abdominal CT the culprit of
his pain. A kidney stone was obstructing flow from his
kidney and he had become septic. Emergency surgery to
put in a stent was performed. The right antibiotic was
found and given intravenously to kill the bacteria and
we thought we were in the clear. His pain was much
better but by morning he had trouble breathing and his
heart went into Afib. He was quickly transferred to ICU.
His doctors all said he was literally “between rock in a
hard place”. </span></div>
