[List] Sad News: Al McDonald

Al McDonald was a giant of a man both ethically and technically.  I worked with him on the Shuttle Booster Motor during the redesign and we had many exchanges during meetings with NASA officials.  He was principally responsible for getting ATK to support Bob Lyles during retirement when he was permanently disabled with his Lyme-type disease.  Al could always be depended on for doing what was right.

 

Attached is a photo of Al and myself at the February 2000 firing of a Shuttle flight safety motor, FSM-8.  It was a very cold and windy day!
